Once used by the Federal Department of Agriculture for experimental purposes, most of this area is now under natural vegetation, accented by a stately red pine plantation just inside the entrance to the Conservation Area. Two small branches of Chrysal Creek cross the Conservation Area and provide an interesting feature to the trail. Hiking the trail is a pleasant experience
as it traverses open areas, mixed forests and areas influenced by natural plant
succession. Cross country skiers will thrill to the presence of perky chickadees
dangling from the tree branches along the trailís route. Ski trails are not groomed. Sidney Conservation Area is 21 hectares (52 acres).
