A wilderness area in Canada's largest city? That's right! Not too far from the skyscrapers of downtown Toronto, urban dwellers can see a different landscape where historic farms, century-old trees, peaceful meadows and lush wetlands await you at your transit stop.
Rouge Park is a unique park protecting a wilderness setting near Canada's largest city. The Park will eventually be over 50 km2 in size, following the river valleys and nearby lands of the Rouge River system, from the Oak Ridges Moraine to Lake Ontario. Rouge Park provides a continuous ecological corridor in the Toronto Area. A countryside landscape of farms and historic hamlets merges with culturally-diverse eastern Toronto, all home to this partnership park. Enjoy hiking, riverside camping, a sandy beach and spectacular views.
