Long Mallory Lake is an absolutely beautiful place to spend the weekend or longer, if you can find it.
Hidden away behind Bon Echo Provincial Park and Mazinaw Lake is a large area of uninhabited Crown Land that is dotted with lakes, ponds and streams. The only access to most of these lakes, if any at all, is a series of logging roads that are poorly maintained. Perhaps the most beautiful of these is Long Mallory with its long sandy beach, several campsites, and picturesque view that lacks any civilization at all.
When planning a trip to the lake take into account that it is crown land and provides no services or amenities at all but after twenty plus kilometers of logging roads you will be happy to see the beach appear in front of you. Most people who camp at Long Mallory bring the means of collecting their own firewood but please be very respectful of the land around you and donít cut down any living trees. Be sure to respect Loading photo...the beach and camping area as well. There arenít any staff members or maintenance people who will come and clean up after youíve gone. When it comes to washroom facilities a little imagination can help.
Remember that this is a natural wilderness area without the luxury of emergency services or anything else nearby so keep it clean and be safe.
