Pain Relief from Stings

When you get stung by either a bee or wasp, they inject venom under your skin using their stinger. A bee's stinger is barbed, kind of like a fish hook, and will remain in your skin until you remove it.  A wasp's stinger is smooth and can be used numerous times.  Being stung by either of these can really hurt while producing a burning sensation followed by redness of the area and possible swelling.  To relieve some of the pain, try following these tips:

Remove the bee stinger using a scraping motion with your fingernail

Wash the area with soap and water

Wash with antiseptic

Place a cold compress or calamine lotion on the area

Rub an Aspirin tablet on the stung area
